Ambassadors speak at meetings around the globe

In keeping with the leadership’s commitment to the global exchange of knowledge, the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology is sending faculty and offering CME opportunities this year in the extraordinary cities of Jerusalem, Israel, as well as Venice and Verona, Italy, through co-sponsored meetings.

Representative “ambassadors” also will give scientific lectures in Singapore, Lithuania, Romania, Kazakhstan and several Latin American countries.

“Our international outreach program builds on our experiences over the past six years and has provided numerous CME opportunities to or members at great international destinations,” said Dr. Daniel Ein, immediate past president and International Committee chair. “We’ve increased our International Affiliate Members, while strengthening our ties to other medical societies around the globe and learning from the experiences of our international colleagues.”

“The IACCI-ACAAI meeting in Jerusalem, Dec. 3-6, offers members a unique opportunity to participate in a state-of-the-art scientific program in one of the most fascinating cities in the world. Sacred to the world’s three main religions, Jerusalem presents a unique combination of old and new, holy and secular,” Dr. Ein said.

The College is again collaborating with the International Center for Interdisciplinary Studies of Immunology at Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington, D.C., the Italian Society of Childhood Respiratory Diseases and the University of Florence to present the 3rd International Symposium: New Horizons in Allergy-Immunology and Pulmonary & Infectious Diseases in October.

Symposiums co-sponsored in part by ACAAI and the Hispanic American Allergy Asthma Association organized by Dr. Jorge A. Quel, chair of the Latin American Section of the ACAAI International Committee, will be held in several Latin American countries including Mexico, Argentina, Costa Rica, Brazil, Central America, Venezuela, Peru and Chile.
