Professional Medical Society seeks Media Relations Manager
The Media Relations Manager will be responsible to maintain and enhance the visibility and recognition of this national professional medical society in national and local consumer, trade and social media. Specific duties include successful execution of proactive media relations plans and strategies; development and writing of related pitches and news releases, including scientific journal releases; interaction with media representatives and society spokespersons and development of new media relationships.
The position requires excellent writing and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or another related field. A minimum of five years’ experience in proven healthcare media relations is required. Experience with medical associations and established relationships with consumer healthcare media preferred. Candidates must have strong oral communication skills, as well as computer skills in Outlook, Word and Excel. Knowledge of Vocus media database is a plus.
